AW16 Luxury Watch Trends

Over all the numerous fashion weeks that take place across Europe and the wider world, we have been shown the fashion trends to follow for the colder months ahead. In the majority of cases, watches are usually a timeless accessory but there are still certain watch designs which are better suited for a specific season. We’ve had a look at the biggest trends from the fashion weeks and have put together a guide for the best watches to wear this AW.

Focus on Embroidery

thomas-sabo-white-watch

One of the trends was a focus on embroiderythat has an elegant design and stands out more, which was mainly the design on a lot of gowns and jackets. To carry this trend over to your wrist, the Thomas Sabo White Karma Watch is the perfect choice. The reasoning for this is because it has an eye catching ice white strap which goes with the mood of winter perfectly and it has a shiny dial with rose gold embroidery and a rose gold skeleton arabesque crown that looks truly stunning.

Sparkle

michael-kors-sawyer-watch

We saw a lot of sparkly items displayed amongst each collection and it seems that this design is set to be a big addition to a lot of AW16 outfits. It is likely however that the majority of people won’t feel too comfortable wearing an item of clothing that is very sparkly as it is normally something you want to save for a special occasion. That makes having a watch that follows this trend very ideal as it is not the stand out point of your outfit. This is where the Michael Kors Stone Set Sawyer Watch comes perfectly in to play! The entire watch is stone set with white crystals with and has silver detailing and you can guarantee it will add a sparkle to the gloomy winter days.

Pink Pieces

armani

Pink watches are normally a colour you would associate with when you were younger, but it seems as though pink is now once again becoming a viable choice for your clothing and accessories. When choosing a pink watch, it would probably be best if it is fairly toned down pink as an electric pink watch may take the focus away from your full outfit. A perfect choice to bring the pink colour in with your watch is the Emporio Armani Ladies Watch which has a stainless steel case along with a pink face and a grey leather strap. The subtle strap accompanied with the light pink face is a great combination that gives you just the right amount of pink.

Silver Shine

tag-heuer

Be it clothing or accessories, over the past few years it has been rare to see many silver pieces worn. The reasoning behind this is that rose gold has become a very popular choice when it comes to jewellery and clothing. Now though, there has been a wider number of designers who have decided to bring silver back in with their designs in an aim to try and liven up an outfit. A perfect silver watch that can fit this purpose is the TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 9 Automatic Watch which is made from polished steel and the edges of it are fixed with 56 Top Wesselton diamonds. The steel hands are also polished as is the protruding TAG Heuer logo, all this guarantees that this watch will certainly fulfil the needs of an AW16 luxury watch.

September: The Month of the Sapphire

Birthstones are gemstones that accompany a birth month, each have a unique meaning and historical significance. The popularity of birthstones dates back to ancient times when civilisations believed that gemstones had incredible powers such as luck, health and prosperity.

Sapphires are the birthstone of September and without a doubt they are one of the most beautiful stones in the world. If your birthday is in September, despite it being the official end of summer, there is no need to be down! The unmistakeable shine given from your birthstone is here to brighten everything up.

History

Throughout time, sapphires have been used to symbolise nobility and faithfulness. This is the reason many choose the stone for an engagement or wedding ring – the famous French leader, Napoleon, even gave one to his wife in 1796 for this very reason! Another interesting fact about a Sapphire is that the gemstone is amongst the most durable elements in the world. The ‘Mohs Scale of Hardness’ is a system which is used to calculate the ability a stone has to withstand any scratching. Sapphires score a whopping 9/10. The only other natural item that can scratch a sapphire is a diamond.

Maybe you’re thinking about getting a sapphire ring for this purpose too, and if so we wish you the best of luck! As a way to celebrate the month of the Sapphire we’ve put together some of our favourite sapphire rings.

Simple Sapphire Ring Choice

sapphire-ring
This ring is the ultimate showcase for when ‘less is more’. The 18ct White Gold Sapphire Set Ring can be seen as the perfect choice if you want a beautifully simple ring that will still have the ability to catch attention. This is because the white gold setting looks very attractive offering a seamless complement to the sapphire. The stone also has the trademark rigid cuts in it that you see with sapphires and this means it will definitely be recognisable when people look at it.

Diamond and Sapphire Are a Beautiful Couple

diamond-and-sapphire-ring

As mentioned previously, sapphires and diamonds are the most durable gemstones available. What that tell us is that if you were to combine these in to one ring it will not just make a stunning piece of jewellery, it will also be able to withstand the wear and tear your hands will face. Looking at the 9 Carrot White Gold Sapphire and Diamond Ring you can see it has a white gold setting that has smaller diamonds which build up to a sapphire stone, which is finished rounded diamonds. With this ring you can really see how stunning diamonds and sapphires look when they are paired together.

Sapphire Engagement Ring Choice

5-stone-diamond

The 18 Carrot Five Stone White Gold Diamond and Sapphire Ring can be safely considered as a perfect choice for an engagement ring. The alternating diamonds throughout the setting create a beautiful band that has shine and elegance which will look wonderful around your finger. When purchasing an engagement ring, many want to go all out for it, as it is often the first gift of real substance that you give to your partner. This sapphire ring cuts the perfect line between it being too much and just right.

Thanking your Beautiful Bridesmaids

Traditionally, brides give their bridesmaids a small token of appreciation on the morning of their wedding day. Bridesmaids are an essential part of the wedding team as they spend countless hours making the bride feel so special for their wedding day. Organising and hosting a bridal shower and bachelorette party definitely warrants a massive thank you from the bride.

One of the best ways to thank your lovely ladies is to present them with a beautiful piece of jewellery to show your love and gratitude for all their hard work leading up to the special day. Each bridesmaid is different and there are tons of elegant, thoughtful and beautiful pieces of jewelry to choose from.

It is important to hand select a personable gift for each bridesmaid and it is a great idea to try and choose a different piece of jewellery from the same collection. You may decide to give your maid of honour a dainty pearl necklace where as you know your crazy best friend would much prefer a cute bracelet to add to her stack.

To help you out, we’ve pulled together our top three jewellery pieces from Jersey Pearl, the ultimate creators of classic and contemporary pearl jewellery designs. Pearls are the ultimate must have wedding accessory and bridesmaid gift; they just ooze sophistication, class and elegance.

Here are our three favourite pieces:

Should you choose a Coloured engagement ring?

These days there’s constantly more unusual and unique engagement rings around. While the classic solitaire is still massively popular and a staple when it comes to engagement rings, a growing player in the coloured ring.

Perhaps it’s down to the Kate Middleton’s £250,000 Garrard jewel, or maybe it’s due to the higher of cost of diamonds. Whatever the reason, it seems that traditional diamond solitaire engagement rings are out and coloured stones are in! If your bride-to-be likes being a bit different, or loves all thing vintage, then it may be the way to go.

Coloured gemstones such as sapphires, emeralds, amethysts and rubies are often a little more affordable than diamonds, and can also lend a vintage feel to even the most modern of engagement ring settings.

Are you considering a coloured gemstone as opposed to a classic diamond ring? If so, here’s three of our favourites.

18ct Rose Gold three stone ring
