The freelancer diver 2760 is the latest limited-edition timepiece here from RAYMOND WEIL. The inspiration comes from their deep-rooted connection with Geneva as a brand and a family. But it’s the detail of the watch that makes it special. We spoke with Elie Bernheim, CEO of luxury Swiss watchmaking brand, RAYMOND WEIL, to learn a little more about their latest limited-edition, the freelancer diver 2760.

What does it mean to you to tell the story of Geneva through this new watch?

Geneva has been the home of watchmaking since the early 16th century, so for us to be able to celebrate our rich family history with the city is a pleasure. I have so many fond memories of Geneva and Lac Léman especially; we are proud of our Swiss heritage here at RAYMOND WEIL and the unique design of the freelancer celebrates that.

What’s your favourite thing about the new freelancer limited edition?
For me, the engraving on the back of the case of the Jet d’eau. A hugely recognisable landmark of Geneva and, a place I visit with friends and family for many special occasions.

Tell us about the design of this new watch?

At the heart of the new freelancer diver watch sits the Calibre RW4200, a Swiss automatic movement with a power reserve of 38 hours. The model is water resistant to 310m, the depth of Lac Léman. Indeed, this latter figure inspired RAYMOND WEIL to limit the production of this divers’ watch to just 310 pieces. Endowed with a blue gradient dial, the freelancer diver Geneva Limited Edition pays tribute to Lac Léman. Mid-blue tones populate the upper reaches of the dial.  These transition to dark blue hues adjacent to 6 o’clock, a visual metaphor for the deepest, darkest parts of the lake.

Our take on this watch.

In an extremely competitive world of luxury watches ‘The Freelancer Geneva’ is a testament to Raymond Weil’s ethos. A watch of beautiful style and substance produced for exceptional value. This freelancer on its own certainly is a handsome piece, but when you combine factors such a limited number case back of just 310 and build quality that many brands are now pushing way beyond the £2000 price threshold, this makes this watch a great investment.

At the time of writing, we literally have just 1 available here, but if you are unfortunate enough to miss out you can shop our full Raymond Weil collection here.
